Prof. Gabriele Freni was appointed associate professor in Urban Water Systems at the University of Enna “Kore” in April 2014. He was previously assistant professor at the University of Enna since 2010. He is author of more that 200 scientific papers with more than 65 papers on international journals. His main research topics are related to urban water systems, water quality, environmental modeling and related uncertainty. In more details, his research interests are mainly related to the evaluation of numerical model reliability, the selection of the most appropriate modeling approach related to a specific application, the development of complex environmental water quality models based on data availability. He participated to more than 30 research projects at national and European level (including FP5, FP6, FP7, EPC-MED programmes) mainly related to water supply, water treatment and natural water preservation. At the moment, he coordinates a national research project on the definition of the best available technologies for treating oily seawaters and marine sediments in harbor areas.
